Simple Elegance

I was picking out the pink carnations for this Still Life set up, when I discovered the peach colored roses. The color combination caught my eye, and I was inspired to create this artwork. My wife and I found an Asian teapot at an antique sale, and this lovely vessel became the vase for this piece (minus the spout). As I put the finishing touches on the painting, the butterfly added a subtle counter point for the creamy colors of the table cloth and Spider Mum.
